Toddler Movement Program

Wednesdays, Nov. 5 and 12, 11 a.m.  Kids ages 2-and-a-half through 4 years old and their caregivers march, dance and play musical instruments. Also songs and action poems. This is a weekly program for children who are ready to participate in group activities. Register.

Stories with Danielle

Thursday, Nov. 6 and 13, 11 a.m. Three and four year olds hear stories.

First Friday Book Discussion

Friday, Nov. 7, 1 p.m. The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri will be discussed at this meeting. Books are available at the branch. December’s selection will be Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann.

Spanish with Sandra

Early immersion program for three to five year-olds and their parents, features the Spanish language in songs, games, story time and other activities. Taught by Shelton Spanish teacher Sandra Alvarado. Registration required and space is limited. This session runs Fridays, at 2:45 through Nov. 21. Participants don’t have to go to all sessions.

Loss of the Quincy

Saturday, Nov. 8, 1 p.m. During World War II, more than 380 men went down with the USS Quincy; a number of them from Connecticut. Learn what happened during the battle, from various viewpoints, to people caught in circumstances beyond their control. This presentation is lead by Bob Begin; register.

On Tuesday, Nov. 11 Both libraries are closed to mark Veteran’s Day. They will reopen Wednesday, Nov. 12 for regular schedules.

As I See It

Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1 p.m. Friends of the Shelton Libraries offer a film viewing and discussion over desserts.
