Spooner House collecting food at polling places

Voters have until 8 p.m. to cast their vote in this year’s election. When they go to a polling place in Shelton, the Spooner House is asking for them to bring  a non-perishable food donation.

Nonperishable food items and holiday meal items will be collected during all polling hours, from 6 a.m.-8 p.m.

People vote in Shelton at these schools: Elizabeth Shelton, Long Hill, Mohegan and Shelton Intermediate.

By noon, the box was filled at SIS.

Spooner House operates a food bank and overnight shelter in Shelton that serves the city and the greater Valley region.
