Free boys basketball clinic at SIS

The Shelton High boys’ basketball team and Shelton Biddy basketball are hosting a free basketball clinic on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Shelton Intermediate School.

Each clinic participant is asked to bring a non-perishable food item* to donate to the Spooner House for holiday meal baskets.

Session I: 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., boys grades 1 -3.

Session II: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., boys grades 4-8.

Brian Gardiner (Shelton High boys basketball coach) and his coaching staff will run the clinic. Coach Gardiner runs the highly successful “Prime Time Basketball Camp” each summer. He and his staff will be teaching proper fundamentals for ball handling, passing, shooting and defending.

In partnership with Shelton Biddy basketball, the Shelton High School Boys Basketball team will be conducting a Food Drive to benefit the Spooner House in Shelton. They are asking that each clinic participant donate a non-perishable food item as they enter the clinic.

Donations will be collected in the lobby at the Shelton Intermediate School.

*Suggested food donations include: Boxed instant potatoes, packages of gravy, box/bag stuffing, cans of vegetables, olives, cranberry sauce, evaporated milk, pie crust mix, canned pie filling, canned fruit, jar of pickles, corn bread or brownie mix, coffee, tea, powdered drink mix, and napkins
