The first scholarship was presented in June to Carly Seamon, who now attends Duke University.

This year’s fund-raising event Oct. 25 at the Stone Barn in Monroe raised an additional $5,000, and included auction items such as an African safari, golf memorabilia, concert tickets, and goodie baskets.
