The Morgan Leary Vaughan Fund is holding its inaugural event “An Affair to RememBeer” on Sunday, Nov. 16 from 1-4 p.m. at the Two Roads Brewing Company in Stratford.
The Vaughans live in Stratford. Morgan and his twin Shaymus attend preschool at Susanna Wesley School in Shelton.
Morgan and Shaymus were born nearly three months early — each weighing less than 2.5 pounds. At four days old, Morgan developed necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and lost approximately 20% of his small intestine. Morgan not only survived but has also thrived since his bout with NEC.
Beer tasting to live music
The inaugural event includes beer tasting, butler-style hors d’oeuvres, live music, raffle prizes and silent auction. Tickets are now available at $45 each at www.morgansfund.org or by sending a check to: Mary Midolo, The Morgan Leary Vaughan Fund, Inc., P.O. 2488, Milford, CT 06460. Sponsorship opportunities are also still available through the website.
The Morgan Leary Vaughan Fund, Inc. is an all-volunteer, public charity dedicated to necrotizing enterocolitis. Its mission is to promote public awareness about NEC and the potentially devastating effects it can have on preemies and their families, and to advance research to prevent, diagnose, treat, and ultimately, cure.
