The residential part of the 41-acre Hawks Ridge development has received Inland Wetlands Commission approval.

The 54 single-family homes and 57 townhouse condos will be constructed in phases. The development will be built between Long Hill Cross Road and Beard Sawmill Road, abutting the Route 8 highway and just off Bridgeport Avenue (behind Wells Hollow Farm).

The property includes wetlands and a brook, and is near the Far Mill River. Detention ponds will be used to control storm water runoff.

The developers now will seek zoning site plan approval after previously being granted zoning permission for a Planned Development District.

The project also includes a 196-unit assisted living facility, with the specifics of that entity to be pursued in the future.
