UPDATE: State Police release name of stolen van driver caught in Shelton

State Police have released the name of the man who is accused of engaging State Police in a protracted vehicle pursuit in a stolen van that ended in Shelton on Tuesday.

Shelton-StatePoliceLogoKeith Ellis, 24, of 160 Pine St., Waterbury, was charged with first-degree larceny, three counts of evading an accident, engaging police in pursuit, interfering with police, and refusal to be fingerprinted. Bond is $100,000.

Ellis also faces some motor vehicle charges related to the incident, including reckless driving and disobeying the signals of an officer.

The suspect allegedly led state troopers on a car chase that began on Interstate 95 in Westport and continued onto the Route 8/25 connector and then Route 8, ending on Constitution Boulevard South in Shelton with a foot chase.
