Road race will lead to road closures in Shelton

Some temporary road closures will take place on Nov. 27 for the Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race. The race begins at 8 a.m. at the Riverwalk, and runners will travel through downtown Shelton and Derby.

In addition to the Derby-Sheton Bridge over the Housatonic River (known as Bridge Street), Shelton roads to be impacted are:

— Canal Street

— Cornell Street

— Howe Avenue.

Motorists along the course should be on the lookout for runners, especially when entering or leaving driveways. About 750 runners will participate.

Some roads in downtown Derby also will be closed for short periods during the race.
