Shelton firm helps provide more than 2,000 Thanksgiving meals

BlumShapiro volunteers spearhead the collection effort

For the third consecutive year, the BlumShapiro Thanksgiving Food Basket Campaign for Christian Community Action provided more than 2,000 Thanksgiving meals for seniors and families in New Haven.

BlumShapiro is a CPA firm with two offices in Connecticut, including one in Shelton, as well as offices in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The Thanksgiving program included a bagging day, where more than 50 BlumShapiro volunteers helped package over 2,000 bags of food in preparation for distribution prior to the holiday.

The community-wide food and monetary collection effort was supported by many organizations, including News 8, iHeartRadio, Big Y, Metro Tax, Eder Brothers, Harte Motors and Creative Benefits Planning.
