Shelton volunteers wanted to help adults learn to read

Shelton-LibBookSale3An informational session to join the local Literacy Volunteers is Thursday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster St.

Curious and potential tutors can learn to help enrich the life of a local adult. Tutors are asked for a commitment of two hours per week and will receive initial training and quarterly workshops; training begins January 2015.

Free tutoring is offered to students in need of improving basic literacy or for English as a Second Language. To register, email [email protected] or call 203-924-6651,  ext. 102.

If interested in tutoring but unable to attend one of the sessions contact Lindsey to set up an appointment.
