As of noon, light snow is falling in Shelton and it is 30 degrees. Significant accumulation is not expected, the National Weather Service (NWS) said, but up to an inch is possible during daytime hours.
In a special weather statement issued for the area, the NWS predicted “bands of light to moderate snow” will move through the region — and that is happening right now.
The snow could continue into the early evening, with flurries later at night. The overnight low should be about 23 degrees in Shelton, according to the NWS.
Friday should be partly sunny with a high near 37. It will warm up slightly over the weekend, with highs in the low 40s in Shelton, the NWS said.
After today and tonight, no new snow is predicted through the middle of next week.
