A 20-year-old Stratford man has been arrested by police for allegedly robbing two people in Shelton.
Dontay Walker turned himself in to police on an active arrest warrant Dec. 11. Walker was charged with first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.
He was held on a $150,000 court set bond and was arraigned at Derby Court earlier today.
The arrest stems from an incident reported on Nov. 15 in the parking lot of Sports Center of Connecticut, 784 River Road, Shelton.
Alleged robbery happened in parking lot
The two victims reported to police that they made arrangements to meet with a friend in the back parking lot of the complex.
The male victim, 20, and female victim, 21, were reportedly waiting in a car and the friend entered the backseat of the vehicle. Police reports allege the victims said the friend then grabbed the male’s head and pulled out a gun and demanded their belongings.
A second unknown suspect, later identified as Walker, then approached the vehicle and took the female’s purse and phone. Both suspects then tried to open the driver’s door, but the male was able to slam the door and drive away.
Detectives conducted an investigation and were able to identify both suspects. A second arrest is expected in this case.
