A group of six teachers and administrators were recently recognized at the Connecticut Association of Schools Celebration of Excellence on Nov. 18. Shelton High School Team Pink, comprised of Jerry Kelley, student council advisor; National Honor Society co-advisors Lynn Coffin and Erik Martire; John Skerritt, housemaster, and Beth Smith, headmaster, received the CAS Recognition of Excellence in Education Award.

The award is given to school programs that have made a measurable impact on students, the school and the entire community.

SHS Team Pink coordinated school efforts in October to raise more than $6,000 for the Valley Goes Pink. In addition, that evening, English curriculum leader Dana Jeanette-Kneen received the Ronald McDonald House Charity Local Hero Award.
