Shelton police’s traffic safety achievements honored by AAA

The Shelton Police Department has been presented with a Silver Award for its outstanding traffic safety programs from AAA Southern New England.

The award recognizes the department’s mature driver training, reduction in auto crashes and aggressive speed enforcement initiatives.

In addition, the American Automobile Association regional organization recognized Shelton police officer Chris Roback as a department-nominated Traffic Safety Hero for his efforts involving driving under the influence arrests and preparing DUI warrants.

 

Fifth annual awards luncheon

Awards were presented at the fifth annual AAA Community Traffic Safety Awards luncheon at Marisa’s in Trumbull.

Shelton-AAA-LogoAAA Southern New England serves more than 3.5 members through 51 offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Rhode Island. The organization’s Connecticut territory includes Fairfield, New Haven, and Litchfield counties.

The association offers travel, insurance, finance, and auto-related services such as driver’s license renewals, international driving permits, and theme park and movie ticket sales.
