Shelton fire company holds Festival of Trees

Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 held its sixth annual Festival of Trees on Saturday at Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes.

Many local businesses donated decorated trees and wreaths as well as gift certificates to be raffled off. The event also included food and photos with Santa.

Carol Tonucci, left, and Donna Skurat, both of Shelton, prepare raffle items for the Festival of Trees. This year’s event was held in memory of Donna’s late husband, Matt Skurat, who was the festival’s first coordinator and Echo Hose secretary. He died in 2013.

The Festival of Trees raises money for the volunteer fire department’s annual Children’s Christmas Party.
