A wild turkey had been observed crossing the busy road in the same area on mid-afternoon on Christmas Eve, and this likely was the same wild turkey.
Wild turkeys are quite common in rural parts of Shelton and elsewhere in the region, but this was an unusually visible location for one to spend some extended time.
This wild turkey didn’t seem to mind onlookers, although there was little vehicular traffic on Bridgeport Avenue on early Christmas morning. The Sears sales sign is right next to the usually-busy road, at 705 Bridgeport Ave.
