TONIGHT'S SHELTON WEATHER: Mostly clear and cold

Weather for New Year’s Eve celebrations tonight in Shelton and nearby areas looks good — cold but mostly clear skies.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), it should be partly cloudy with an overnight low near 16 degrees. Winds will be mild and there is no chance for snow.

Like today, New Year’s Day will be mostly sunny with a high around 34 degrees — which would be about 2 degrees warmer than Tuesday’s high of 32 degrees in Shelton.

The next chance for precipitation is Saturday, when a system should begin as snow, quickly change to a wintry mix, and turn into all rain on Sunday, the NWS said.
