Obituary: Thomas S. Silva Sr., 76, of Shelton

Thomas S. Silva Sr., age 76, of Shelton, passed away January 2, 2015 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Mr. Silva was born in Concord, NH to the late Thomas and Catherine Silva.

He was a graduate of Bridgeport Engineering Institute and was an engineer for Avco Lycoming for over 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Esterley Silva; his son Thomas M. Silva and his wife Fatima; his grandson Thomas Lucas Silva all of Shelton; his sister Joanne McCarty and her husband John of Clinton, CT and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was a loving husband, father and beloved grandfather and a good friend to many. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and was proud to have lived his life in CT. He was a good person who cared about others and always prioritized his family.

Tom, a kind and thoughtful person, was liked by all who were blessed to know him. He was a “Mr. Fix It” guy, always willing to help others.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church 505 Shelton Ave. Huntington. Interment in (include cemetery). Friends may call on Monday from 4- 8p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Lawrence Church.
