SHELTON WEATHER: More snow expected late tonight, early Friday

Shelton could pick up a few inches of snow in the overnight hours and the early morning on Friday.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting about an inch could fall late tonight, and perhaps up to another inch on Friday.

The timing could make the Friday morning a mess.

There is also a chance for snow on Sunday night, Monday and Monday night in Shelton, according to the NWS.

Cold temps on the way

No matter how much precipitation falls, it will be cold in the coming days.

While the high should reach 34 degrees during the day on Friday, the overnight low will drop to 4 degrees Friday night into Saturday, the NWS said. With wind gusts up to 31 mph, the wind chill will make it feel from 10-below to zero that night.

Expected temperatures for the following days in Shelton, the NWS said, are:

SATURDAY:  A daytime high of 16 (wind chill values from 5-below to 15-below); nighttime low around 9.

SUNDAY:  A daytime high near 26; overnight low around 11.

MONDAY:  A daytime high near 14, nighttime low around 1-below.
