EVERY TRAVELER’S FEAR: Police say man tried to steal luggage at airport

A Connecticut man was arrested Jan. 28 by State Police for allegedly trying to steal luggage at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks.

Shelton-StatePoliceLogoJohn Smith, 25, of 133 Nelson St., Unit 1, East Hartford, was charged with credit card theft by transfer, sixth-degree larceny, attempt to commit a crime, and interfering with an officer (non-assaultive). Bond was $5,000.

According to police, Smith was caught trying to steal baggage from the United Airlines baggage belt.

The luggage belonged to two people — one from East Hartford, and the other from Hamden.
