Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police Department had just come into the police department after driving on the city’s roads. He said public works crews have been doing a good job keeping up with the snow.
“We haven’t seen an uptick in accidents, there are fewer people on the roads, and people are driving slowly,” said Kozlowsky.
Drivers should stay home today, if possible, he urged, so the plow drivers can safely and successfully keep up with the weather. Because of the sleet, clear roads may seem OK, but will be slippery.
Today there have been two reported accidents. One came in just after midnight, and one at 6:30 a.m. The incident in the morning, Kozlowsky said, was on private property.
