SHELTON SNOWSTORM: Snow, sleet, freezing rain leads to little traffic

As of 10:40 on Monday morning in Shelton, sleet and freezing rain is coming down. Snow fell earlier, beginning late Sunday night, and the plows are out in force on local roads and Route 8.

Traffic is very light, with schools closed and many businesses not expected to open until later in the day.

It’s 23 degrees in Shelton, and the precipitation should change back to all snow before ending tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Up to 7 inches could fall in the course of the day.
