Property tax payment deadline extended to today by the governor

The deadline to pay the Feb. 1 installment of municipal property taxes has been extended. Under an executive order signed Monday by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, the deadline now is Tuesday, Feb. 3.

The governor’s directive impacts Connecticut residents who pay property taxes on a semi-annual or quarterly basis. He said the extension was needed due to the winter weather that has impacted the state during the last week.

“Between the significant snow we received last week, and now with [Monday’s] winter weather, extending this deadline will allow some additional time to help residents avoid accumulating interest fees,” Malloy said.

Malloy also authorized the state Department of Revenue Services to grant a similar extension for several other filings, a list of which can be found on that agency’s website. Click below to learn more:
