Shelton High’s Team Pink, comprised of Jerry Kelley, Student Council advisor; Lynn Coffin and Erik Martire, National Honor Society co-advisors; John Skerritt, housemaster, and Beth Smith, headmaster, received the CAS Recognition of Excellence in Education Award.

A measurable impact

The award is given to school programs that have made a measurable impact on students, the school and the entire community.

SHS Team Pink coordinated school efforts in October to raise more than $6,000 for the Valley Goes Pink initiative to fight breast cancer.

Also at the CAS event, SHS English teacher and curriculum leader Dana Jeanette-Kneen received the Ronald McDonald House Charity Local Hero Award.
