“Snow likely” and “a chance of snow” are forecast verbiage that Shelton residents will need to get used to in the coming days.
According to the most recent National Weather Service (NWS) forecast for the city, snow is likely or possible Tuesday night, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday night, Sunday and Monday.
Any snow Tuesday night or Wednesday morning will be light, with no significant accumulation expected in Shelton, the NWS said.
Messy commute Thursday morning?
From late Wednesday night into early Thursday afternoon, snow is likely and from 2 to 3 inches could fall, the NWS said. That could make for an interesting commute for Shelton residents on Thursday morning.
The coldest temperatures in the coming days will be from Thursday night to Friday night, with the NWS predicting a nighttime low of zero on late Thursday into Friday morning.
During the weekend and into early next week, the most likely chance for snow is Sunday into Monday.
Some private forecasters are saying anything from less than an inch to more than 3 inches could fall during that period.
