A Mardi Gras/Fun Night will feature a Cher impersonator, blues band, and cabaret and Armenian dancers.
The event will take place Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension’s Aghahigian-Sherinian Church Hall, 1460 Huntington Tpke., Trumbull. It was rescheduled from Feb. 14 due to snow.
Headlining the event will be Steven Andrade as Cher. (Cher is half Armenian, having been born as Cherilyn Sarkisian.)
Andrade has been performing in the show “Believe — Divas In A Man’s World,” doing a Cher impersonation while wearing fashion designer Bob Mackie costume replicas.
Also performing will be the Antranig Dance Ensemble, an Armenian dance group; the Barynya’s NYC Can-Can Cabaret dancers, a New York City-based troupe that has been featured at cabarets and clubs as well as Carnegie Hall; and the Chauncey Street Blues Band, a local band featuring the Kuroughlians.
There will be additional performers and an opportunity to dance to Armenian music.
