Boys basketball: Shelton sinks Guilford

The Shelton High boys basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 57-45 SCC interdivision victory over Guilford High at Murray Gymnasium on Friday night.

Jeff Stockmal led a well-balanced Gael offensive attack with 16 points on Senior Night, while Matt Terrasi added nine and Jake Camp eight.

Stockmal, a sophomore, tallied nine points in the third quarter — keying a 14-3 Gael flurry to put some distance between themselves and the Indians (4-14).

With the victory, Shelton improved to 10-9 overall and will close out the regular season on a positive note when it travels to West Haven on Monday night to face Notre Dame of West Haven (10-9) at 7.
