St. Joseph’s Church weekly fish fry dinners are Friday nights in Shelton

The first night of annual Lenten fish fry at St. Joseph’s Church in Shelton last Friday attracted a steady crowd, despite the frigid temperatures outside.

It’s thumbs-up for the volunteer cooks at the St. Joseph’s Church fish fry, held weekly on Friday nights.

Every Friday through March 27, the public is invited to attend the fish fry from 5-8 p.m. in the downtown church’s basement at 50 Fairmont Place, just off Coram Avenue.

Guests are welcome to bring their own drinks, although soda, water, juice and coffee are available for purchase as well.

Many new items are on the menu this year, and many old favorites have returned. All of the food is available to dine in or take out. One of the healthy new items, baked fish, was a favorite last week.
