Snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain all is expected in Shelton on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

In fact, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for Shelton and all of Fairfield County from 3 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The NWS is predicting 2 to 4 inches of snow, plus a coating of ice, could fall during that time period.

“Snow develops late Tuesday afternoon, then mixes with sleet and freezing rain Tuesday evening before changing to freezing rain by midnight,” the NWS said.

The NWS warned this could lead to “snow-covered surfaces coated with ice [that] will make traveling difficult at times.”
