Wesley-Prayer-YarnA Prayer Shawl ceremony was held at Wesley Village in Shelton recently. More than 75 hand-knit prayer shawls, lap robes and afghans were donated to  hospice patients of Masonicare Home Health and Hospice.

The items were made by a group of residents at Wesley Village who call themselves the Wesley Village Prayer Shawl Knitters. Their goal is to provide comfort and warmth to hospice patients.

The ceremony, which marked the 11th anniversary of this program, featured a candle-lighting, readings and blessing of the shawls. More than 3,000 shawls have been donated since 2004.
