TODAY: Shelton Intermediate students to present CT History Day projects

Shelton Intermediate School students will be among the more than 300 students to participate in a History Day competition at Fairfield University on Saturday, March 21.

Shelton-CTSolidMapParticipants will present their projects to judges at the Fairfield Regional History Day in Connecticut Contest. Five other regional competitions will take place elsewhere in the state.

Students in grades 6 to 12 have spent months researching a history topic of their own choice related to this year’s theme of “Leadership and Legacy in History.” Presentations can take the form of exhibits, documentaries, websites, papers or performances.

State and national contests next

There will be two age categories — for students in grades 6 to 8, and for grades 9 to 12. Students who place in the top three in their respective categories and divisions can compete in the State History Day Contest on May 9.
