On March 21 at about 11:25 a.m., State Police responded to a report of a bank robbery at the Webster Bank branch, 696 Amity Road Route 63), Bethany.
Troopers arrived on scene and initiated a criminal investigation,which revealed surveillance footage and other investigative information. Witnesses were also able to provide specific details regarding the robbery.
The suspect, a white male in his 20s or early 30s wearing a black Carhartt hat, demanded money from a bank teller.
The suspect was described as approximately 5-feet-10 inches tall, 220 pounds with reddish blonde hair, visible tattoos on his hands, and he appeared to be missing a portion of his left index finger, State Police said.
The bank teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the male suspect left the bank. No weapons were displayed and no injuries were reported.
May have fled in Nissan Cube
The male suspect fled on foot to a waiting vehicle, believed to be a gray or silver Nissan Cube, according to State Police. The vehicle left the area heading north on Amity Road (Route 63) toward the Town of Naugatuck.
