This afternoon’s rain could turn to snow tonight in Shelton, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
As of 5 p.m., it’s 37 degrees and light rain is falling in Shelton.
The NWS said rain and snow are possible until midnight, with a chance for all snow after that for a few hours. The chance for precipitation is 80% in the coming hours, but no significant snow accumulation is expected.
The overnight low will dip below the freezing mark, with a predicted 26 degrees.
Wednesday, Thursday look better
The good news is that Wednesday and Thursday should both be mostly sunny, with temperatures from the low 40s to almost 50 in Shelton, the NWS said. Thursday will be the warmer of the two days.
Friday, which is a holiday for many people, is forecast to be rainy for most of the day and evening in Shelton. Thunderstorms also are possible, according to the NWS.
