A governor and U.S. senator to be graduation speakers

A former Connecticut governor and a current U.S. senator will be the speakers at Western Connecticut State University graduation ceremonies in May.

Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell, a Republican who served as the state’s leader from 2004 to 2011, will deliver the undergraduate commencement address Sunday, May 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard, 600 Main St., Bridgeport.

U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, a Democrat first elected in 2012, will give the graduate commencement address Friday, May 8 at 7 p.m. at the William A. O’Neill Athletic and Convocation Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury.
