Free fishing permits for unemployed, vets, active military

For the seventh year in a row, Aquarion Water Co. will issue free fishing permits to any unemployed individual over age 18. Veterans and active duty service members may also receive free permits.

On Wednesday, April 22 and Wednesday, May 6 from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., anglers can obtain a free fishing permit by going to Aquarion’s Aspetuck Environmental Center, 714 Black Rock Road (Route 58), Easton.

Anglers should bring a valid Connecticut fishing license and official proof of unemployment or a military ID/DD Form 214.

Shelton-AquarionLogoSmallOnce issued, fishing is open along designated shorelines of Aquarion’s Far Mill Reservoir in Shelton, West Pequonnock Reservoir in Monroe and Saugatuck Reservoir in Weston.
