Shelton hike Saturday features wildflowers and waterfalls

Shelton-LandTrust-Bushin

The Shelton Trails Committee will sponsor the Birchbank Ramble hike Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m. (Rain date is May 3.)

Meet by the kiosk at the trailhead on the far end of Indian Well Road, where it crosses the railroad tracks (detailed map at www.sheltontrailscom.blogspot.com).

This will be a loop hike with some steep uphill climbing; it’s not for baby strollers. Wear good hiking shoes (no sandals) and bring water. Leashed dogs welcome.

Hikers will pass through woodlands containing wildflowers and follow a stream with waterfalls.

Organizers said the trek will be “a wonderful escape from the sights and noise of the city.”
