Shelton High School’s softball team scored more than a dozen runs, but it wasn’t enough in a 22-15 setback to Lyman Hall on Thursday.

The host Gaelettes put up eight runs in the second inning alone, but were done in by ten errors and several walks. Both teams had had fielding struggles and combined for 16 errors.

Arianna Berardi tripled and scored on the play when the ball was bobbled, Lillian Rivera homered, Mackenzie Bures had four hits, and Gina Ciambriello added three hits in defeat.

The football-like score was appropriate given the weather; wet, wind-driven snow fell intermittently in the early innings.
