A Ford sedan and a Honda sedan both sustained front-end damage in the collision. The Ford appeared to be the most heavily damaged and, as of about 12:50 p.m., was being lifted onto a flatbed truck to be towed away from the scene.

Two Shelton police officers in two squad cars were at the scene, talking to the drivers. Nobody was injured in the crash. The vehicles were facing southbound (toward the Stop & Shop and Trumbull).

The emergency and tow-truck response caused some minor delays in southbound traffic on Bridgeport Avenue for a brief period, with motorists having to drive around the accident scene.

A member of the two-person tow-truck crew could be seen sweeping up debris in the road from the crash.

The April 29 accident took place near a major intersection, with consistent traffic during the workday due to nearby offices, retail outlets and Exit 12 of Route 8 (Old Stratford Road).

The Honda was turning into the small retail building with the Pet Supplies Plus store when it was hit by the Ford that was going south on Bridgeport Avenue, according to the occupants of the Honda.

The Ford had one male driver and the Honda had two women occupants, according to an officer at the scene.

It was unclear what, if any, enforcement action might be taken in terms of citations. It also was unclear if the motorist in the Honda would be able to drive that vehicle from the scene.
