SHELTON WEATHER: Unusual forecast predicts fog for much of the next two days

The National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for an unusual weather pattern in Shelton for the weekend, with periods of fog expected from late tonight through Sunday night.

The sun should come out Sunday afternoon, but it may be cloudy or foggy at most other times. No rain is expected, and temperatures will remain on the warm side.

 

Dense Fog Advisory issued

The NWS has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for southern Fairfield County and southern New Haven County from midnight tonight through 9 a.m. Saturday. People should expect reduced visibility that will impact travel. The worst conditions will be near the coast.

Shelton-CTSolidMapThe rest of Saturday will be mostly cloudy in Shelton, with a high of 73 degrees, the NWS said. Areas of fog also are expected on Saturday night, with a low around 60 degrees.

The fog should continue until about 11 a.m. on Sunday in Shelton, according to the NWS. The rest of that day will be partly sunny, with a high near 79. Fog also is expected Sunday night after 10 p.m.

On Monday and Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms are possible in Shelton, with highs in the upper 70s.
