Four area shelters in Fairfield County benefited from the generosity of the DiMatteo Group in Shelton when 100 Easter baskets were delivered to homeless children in the region.

The annual drive was started more than 15 years ago, and over 1,500 baskets have now been given to children.  Each gift basket is filled with age-appropriate necessities.

Kim DiMatteo, vice president of the DiMatteo Group, has spearheaded the project along with her children and their friends.

“Each of the shelters is so appreciative and grateful for the time and effort we put into the gift baskets,” DiMatteo said.

Baskets were delivered to the following shelters: Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Norwalk, Norwalk Emergency Shelter in Norwalk, Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Stamford, and Inspirica Inc. in Shelton.

The DiMatteo Group is a family-owned and -operated business specializing in insurance, employee benefits, income tax and financial services.
