On early Sunday morning, State Police received a report of a 2015 Toyota Corolla being shot at while traveling on the Route 8/25 connector northbound in Bridgeport, near Exit 2 (Fairfield Avenue).
The vehicle operator did not see any flashes from the firearm, but believes the gunshots came from a white four-door sedan of an unknown make and model, according to the State Police.
At about the same time, on May 10 at approximately 1:34 a.m., the Bridgeport Police Department reported gun shots in the area of Ellsworth Street and Fairfield Avenue. This is about two miles from the Route 8/25 connector location, but also involves Fairfield Avenue. It is unknown if the two incidents are related.
Looking for a hubcap or mirror plate
If anyone locates a silver Toyota hubcap or 2-inch by 3-inch passenger-side mirror black trim plate in that vicinity, or has any information regarding this incident, they should contact Trooper Corona of State Police Troop G in Bridgeport at 203-696-2500. All calls will be kept confidential.
The highway shooting case remains under investigation by the State Police.
