Connecticut State Police troopers won first place for Best Uniform in a national police parade in Rhode Island on May 3.

The Aquidneck Island National Police Parade in Newport, R.I. attracted tens of thousands of people, who watched as thousands of law enforcement officers marched by.

The Connecticut State Police honor guard, state troopers, a K-9 team, motorcycle unit, and antique Connecticut State Police cruisers all participated in the parade.

As the multiple law enforcement agencies marched, they were evaluated on various aspects, including their dress uniform.

This year’s Aquidneck Island National Police Parade honored all law enforcement officers lost in the line of duty during 2014.
