The Shelton High boys track and field team took third, with the girls finishing fourth, at the SCC East Sectional at Amity High in Woodbridge.
On the girls side, Laurel Bailey was fourth in the 100 hurdles in 16.98. Kayla Sekelsky was fourth in the 300 hurdles in 49.59.
Bailey won the pole vault at a height of 10-06.00 and Samantha Stevens won the shot put with a throw of 38-10.50.
Sarah Lipinski was fourth in the triple jump at 33-02.00 and Erin Adler was fourth in the javelin at 98-09.
Tyler Hansen was third in the boys 100 dash with a time of 11.32 and fifth in the 200 dash with a time of 23.36.
Joe Edelstein was third in the 1600 in 4:30.04. In the 3200, Edelstein placed first in 9:42.91.
Wadson Petithomme won the high jump at 6-00.00 and the triple jump at 21-04.50.
Chris Carew won the shotput at 47-02.50 and was second in the discus at 118-10. Carew was third in the javelin at 143-06.
Amity High won the girls championship with 141 points, followed by Cheshire High (99.50), Hillhouse (95), Shelton (73) and Guilford (73).
Hillhouse High of New Haven edged Amity High with 143 points to the Spartans 139. Shelton took third with 108 points.
