Shelton student wins first place in national essay contest

Shelby Plotkin, an eighth grade student at St. Joseph School in Shelton, won first place in the Modern Woodmen of America Speech Contest for the district.

This is the second consecutive year a St. Joseph School student has won first place. Shelby will now advance to the state level.
