PHOTOS: Shelton police officer receives state award for K-9 enthusiasm

Shelton police officer Dan Loris and his K-9 partner, Stryker, graduated the 173rd Connecticut State Police Patrol Dog Training Troop on May 28.

Loris received the Daniel “Danny” Wasson K-9 Memorial Award. This award is given in memory of Milford officer Danny Wasson, who was killed in the line of duty.

The award is presented to a member of the training troop’s graduating class that best exemplifies Wasson’s motivation and enthusiasm in the field of K-9 training.

The graduation ceremony took place at the State Police Training Academy in Meriden.
