The Shelton Historical Society has pushed back the date of its annual car show due to expected bad weather on Sunday, Father’s Day.

The Vintage Vehicles antique and classic car show at the Shelton History Center will now take place Sunday, July 19. It had been scheduled for this Sunday, June 21.

Heavy rain is expected this Sunday in Shelton due to the remnants of Tropical Depression Bill, which has been dropping massive amounts of precipitation in Texas and Oklahoma during the past few days and now is hearing toward the Northeast.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Sunday in much of the tri-state region due to the expected rain, so it’s likely many outdoor events will have to be canceled on that day.

Model T’s to muscle cars

The Shelton Historical Society’s Vintage Vehicles antique and classic car show features everything from Model T’s to muscle cars, and Army Jeeps to Rolls Royces.

It takes place from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. at the Shelton History Center, 70 Ripton Road (about a half block from the Huntington Green).
