Shelton fireworks drew a crowd

IMG_3622.gifA cloudy sky didn’t stop a large crowd from attending Shelton’s festival/fireworks display Thursday night along the city’s Riverwalk.

Fireworks tradition attracts diverse audience

People of all ages came from Shelton and surrounding towns to take part in the fourth of July weekend celebration. Theresa Syc of Shelton said she has been coming to the event for the past six years. This year she came along with Kathy McAuliffe and her son Jackson.

In attendance, there was also the Huntington fire department who helped with directing traffic, Shelton’s Community Lions Club, and a couple of the city’s aldermen.

The festival also featured face painting for kids to enjoy, foods ranging fried dough to lobster rolls, and a musical performance by The Navels.
