Illustrators select Case portrait of Degas

Mary Anne Case, a New Canaan artist, illustrator and cartoonist, has a portrait of Degas included in the current exhibition, Artists Illustrating Artists, in The Hall of Fame Gallery at the Society of Illustrators in New York City at 128 East 63rd Street. The Society of Illustrators also houses The Museum of American Illustration and the collection of MOCA, the Museum of Cartoon Art. It is open Tuesday 10 – 6, Wednesday through Friday 10 – 5, and Saturday, 12 – 4. The exhibit runs through August 15.

Case is a graduate of Brown University and The Rhode Island School of Design. She studied space planning at The New York School of Interior Design and web and graphic design at Norwalk Community College. She a professional artist member of both The Society of Illustrators and the National Cartoonist Society.

Case is an NCIDQ-certified interior designer, now retired, and was a former board member of The New York Metro Chapter of The American Society of Interior Designers where she served five years on The Education Committee. She was president of New Spaces Inc..

Case served as head of  the Art Committee of the New Canaan Library from 1992 through 1996. She is curator of the current exhibit at The New Canaan Historical Society, The Cartoonists of Silvermine: Past and Present. Her digital cartoons are also included in the exhibition which runs through August 15.

Mary Anne Case has shown throughout Fairfield County and in New York, Westchester and Chicago. She has also read her poems with the St. Mark’s Poetry Group at The New Canaan Library for the last two years during Poetry Month.
