Possible vehicle involved in hit and run caught on surveillance

On Aug. 14 at approximately 10 P.M. Shelton Police received multiple 911 calls reporting an accident with injuries between a vehicle and a bicyclist at the intersection of Howe Ave. and Bridge St.

Shelton Police and EMS responded to the scene. The bicyclist, a 49 year old Milford resident, is still receiving treatment at the hospital for the injuries he sustained in the accident.

Witnesses reported that the bicyclist was struck by a black vehicle which was traveling south on Howe Ave. Witnesses reported that the vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene over the Derby Shelton Bridge.

The Shelton Police Department Traffic Division is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the owner or operator of the pictured vehicle as it is believed to be present at the time of the accident.
