Search for ‘beards’ continues through Aug.

Whether you have a scruffy, styled, or tapered beard, seven time Connecticut photographer of the year, Steve Cooper wants to take your picture to help those experiencing homelessness.

Cooper is looking for individuals with distinctive facial hair to create “fine art character study portraits” to create a fund-raising exhibit to help the homeless in local communities.

A session with Cooper for this project costs $25 and all of the proceeds will be divided among the three agencies Beth-El Center, Columbus House and Spooner House.

Each participant who is photographed will receive a design consultation and portrait session with Cooper and then will be judged by three judges to vote for their favorite image. A fourth vote will be a people’s choice vote from the attendees. He will be doing sessions through the end of August.

The winner and their guest will be invited to dinner with Cooper at a local restaurant where the image will be hung on display. There will be “Best Beard” trophies for first, second, and third place winners.
